The advertising copywriter, with subtle skill, introduces a plausible premise -- the clincher -- the reason to buy, which is at the heart of all sales. Good copy drives business home and is the lifeblood of the company. Without the sale the business wouldn't exist. It's our job not to squander the little time the prospective customer gives us. Give them some good information, dress it up a little, and the customer will draw their own conclusions and decide if it's right for them. To make this work the client must start with a good, competitive product at the right price. A good writer can push all the right buttons but the benefits must be real.
